Founded in 2012, Two Doulas Birth provides childbirth education classes, doula matchmaking services, and community events to expecting and new families in the LA area. Our classes are taught by the doula educators featured below.
Alyson Carroll is a DTI trained birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator and the Owner of Two Doulas Birth. She came to doula work after the birth of her son in 2016. Alyson is passionate about helping people navigate pregnancy and birth with confidence and strength. She offers nonjudgmental emotional support, evidence-based information, and physical comfort. Becca Gordon is a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula, CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula, CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator, CAPPA Certified Lactation Educator, yoga instructor, and the co-founder of Two Doulas Birth. In her doula work, she specializes in supporting women and families who have previous history of trauma or loss. Becca is a native of Memphis, TN and currently lives in North East Los Angeles with her husband Lee and son Ezra. Becca was honored to receive the 2012 Birth Doula of the Year award, the 2013 Educator of the Year award, and the 2016 Mentor of the Year award from the Doulas Association of Southern California. Laura Garland is a DONA certified birth and postpartum doula, a Lamaze trained childbirth educator, and a placenta encapsulator. She was called to birth work through her college experience making a film called “Urban Midwifery”. She attended over 100 births and worked with many more families and students prior to the birth of her son River in 2016. Dayva Savio is a DONA trained postpartum doula, CAPPA trained childbirth educator, IIN-certified holistic health coach and California licensed massage therapist. Having spent over a decade in advertising, Dayva saw first-hand the struggles women faced returning to work after their maternity leave. After her son was born in 2013, she felt called to develop her own postpartum care practice. She is passionate about mothering the mother and creating a peaceful space for mama and baby to bond. With Dayva’s support, couples are able to gently make the transition into their new roles as parents and feel confidant in own their natural abilities. Jessica Diggs is a DONA certified birth doula, ICEA trained childbirth educator, and NCM midwifery student. She aspires to become a midwife who works alongside the obstetric and doula communities for collaborative maternity care. Jessica provides evidence-based information to expecting families and believes in freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives in childbirth. Katie Collins is a DONA certified birth doula, ICEA trained childbirth educator and placenta encapsulator. Katie deeply believes in birth as a transformative, beautiful life event and is passionate about helping families equip themselves to make educated decisions about their birth experience. Julie Grube is a DONA certified birth doula, a certified lactation educator and an ICEA trained childbirth educator. A mother of four children, each of Julie’s births had a profound impact on her life. In her work as a doula, Julie provides compassionate support to families as they welcome their babies into the world.
